Silk Painting Workshop
November 19 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
In this workshop, we’ll be covering all aspects of the water-resist Gutta Serti technique, the Soy Wax method, and related techniques. Open to all experience levels. All materials provided.
Go with the flow using colors, dyes, wax, and resist to create one-of-a-kind works of art. Letting water move the color on silk produces soft lines and blended hues similar to watercolor, and even beginners can enjoy extraordinary effects using the right tools and materials.
Students will create a 15″ x 60″ silk scarf or wall hanging and can also make an extra 11″ x 11″ Peace Flag if they would like to be a part of the ArtWavEs “Art for Peace” project.
Space is limited. Call the SKEA office at (808) 328-9392 to register.
Sponsored in part by the County of Hawaii and the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, through appropriations from the State Legislature, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
